A polariton laser
Article Abstract:
A coherent state of matter, light excitations or polaritons, is shown in a semiconductor microcavity, which is considered to be the first room-temperature polariton laser. The results have shown the coherent states of microcavity polaritons disappear when the photon component vanishes in a system of bare excitons, but remain strong when the exciton vanishes in the weak-coupling regime, and the coherence of the microcavity polaritons arises from the coherence of an electromagnetic field.

Wave goodbye
Article Abstract:
Quantum measurement projects a microscopic system into a state in which the observed quantity, previously unknown, becomes precisely known. The ability to follow a quantum measurement stage by stage as the wave function collapses opens up broad avenues of approach to fundamental questions that were previously accessible only in simulations.

Coherent zero-state and [pi]-state in an exciton-polarization condensate array
Article Abstract:
The spontaneous build-up of in-phase (zero-state) and antiphase ([pi]-state) superfluid states observed in solid-state system is reported. The two states indicate the band structure of the one-dimensional polariton array and the dynamic characteristics of metastable exciton-polariton condensates.
